ROD PRINCE October 17, 1955 – January 2, 2019 COVINGTON- Rod Prince, 63, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, after complications from pneumonia. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church in Perry. Funeral Services will be on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church in Perry.

Rod was born in Norfolk, Virginia, grew up there, living on the water’s edge, and moved away with his family to Georgia as a young teenager. He was a paint contractor who worked in the construction industry his entire career.

He was a long-time member of Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church. Rod was a video aficionado, always capturing special moments to repeatedly view, as well as record memories for later generations to enjoy, especially at family gatherings and trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, one of his favorite places. He loved all genres of music, and he always remembered everyone’s birthdays, making them feel loved on their special day.

Rod was a “people person”. He touched the lives of so many people through the years, never meeting a stranger, reaching people of all ages, making connections that would last a lifetime. In spite of his declining health, Rod always kept a positive attitude and wanted to share his journey and testimony with everyone he encountered and those who followed him on social media.

A devoted husband, he made many sacrifices through the years for his blended family whom he loved so much. Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Irving Prince and Anita Bernice Prince; his brother, Larry Prince; and his father-in-law, Raymond Lester Click. Left to cherish the memories of Rod are his loving and devoted wife, Juanita Click Prince of Covington; his children, Krystle Prince and Kason Prince, both of Covington; his step-children, Eric Prince (Shena) of Covington, and Deanita Maynard of Sandy Springs; three grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “Pop Paw”; six step-grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis Prince (Glenda) of Perry and Ron Prince (Erlinda) of Covington; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
