He was born on December 17, 1948 to Maurice Richard Engman and Rosalie Ardell Sandholm Engman in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He married Lynn Cheryl Plahn.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 11:00am in the Lehi South Stake Center, 700 South 500 West. A viewing will be held Monday evening at the Stake Center from 6-8:00pm and from 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park (Camp Williams Cemetery).
