Rodney’s Obituary Rodney D Harvey II was born June 15, 1986 at Yokota AFB Japan. He departed this life on Tuesday December 11, 2018 in his residence in Biloxi MS. Growing up Rodney was a child full of energy and life, and at a young age he displayed many talents.

He participated in Boy Scouts, loved to fish and was an avid bowler. Rodney had a special relationship with the Lord and he attended Abundant Life Evangelistic Center and Church Upon the Rock Inc. After graduating from Baldwin County High School, Rodney attended The University of Southern Mississippi where he was the schools official Mascot. From there he enlisted in the United States Army as a Culinary Specialist.

While enlisted in the US Army, Rodney was on tour to Iraq and Afghanistan during operation enduring freedom. During his deployment Rodney was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for consistent acts of heroism and meritorious service. After his commitment to service, Rodney earned his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park NY.

Rodney’s biggest passion was cooking and brewing his own personal brand of beer. Rodney would also develop his own garden from which he crafted his own recipes. He was well on his way to achieving his life goal in opening his own restaurant one day.

Through his talents, humor and his true compassion for others, Rodney touched many people through his life and will be sincerely missed. Rodney leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted mother Regina (Tony) Anderson, a loving and supportive father Rodney (Elanor) Harvey, three sisters, Marcella Harvey – Bay Minette AL, Lateshia (Terrance) Mitchell – Dallas TX, Brianna Harvey – Pascagoula MS. One brother Nicholas Harvey – Ocean Springs MS.

Rodney also leaves six nieces, Alexis, Aaliyah, Amane, Asia, Alyssa, McKenzie and two nephews Tremaine and Demetrius. Rodney was blessed to have honorary godparents Willie and Dorothy Lewis, three childhood friends, Tabitha, Charmaine and Medina, and host of aunts, uncles, family and friends. Rodney had no children of his own other than his beloved dog Peyton.
