Obituary for Mr. Roger Oneil Brown Sr. Roger Oneil Brown, Sr. 85, departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born December 26, 1932 at Montevue Hospital in Frederick, MD to the late Ethel M. Brown and Roger Fredericks. Roger, better known as Oneil, was married on May 25, 1955 to Betty Jane Anderson Holsey.

To support their growing family, both Oneil and his wife worked long hours at Jenkins Foods for many years. Oneil enjoyed fishing, was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and thoroughly enjoyed listening to country music. His favorite artist included Charlie Pride, Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams.

Oneil is survived by: six children, Marjorie “Nettie” Brown, Sabrina Brown, Roger “Bugsy” Brown, Jr. (Jeannie “Mimi”), Gordon “Joe” Brown (Nora), Kenneth Brown (Isabel) and Merhl Brown (Patricia), step-daughter, Victoria Holsey; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Thelma Harris (Maynard); sister-in-law, Deloris “Jackie” Whiten Williams; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Oneil was preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Jane Brown; brother, Douglas Brown; granddaughter, Shondre’ Brown-Naylor; and step-children, Philip Holsey and Phyllis Price. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 29 at the Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD at 1:00 PM.

The family will receive friends at 12 PM. Rev. Rex R. Bowens, Sr., Officiating.
