Roger “Steve” Baldwin, 69, of Mansfield, MO died Saturday, February 16, 2019 at home after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Born in Springfield, OH on January 19, 1950 to parents Donna and Louis Baldwin, who preceed him in death, as well as his older sister Sandy Hall and nephew Mark Hall. He was very lucky in life to find two soulmates and now joins his previous wife Michele “Mickey”, who also lost her valiant battle with pancreatic cancer in 2004.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Marilynne and two daughters: Michele and Nicole. He also leaves behind his brother Garry (Peggy) Baldwin and sister Karen (Randy) Davis, three nieces: Amanda (James) Woosley, Vickie (Joe) Penwell, and Trisha (Craig) Isaac, and two nephews: Jeff (Sherry) Hall and Matthew (Beth) Baldwin, as well as grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Roger was a 1968 graduate of Northeastern High School.

Immediately upon graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He earned five medals which included: Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Air Force Longevity Service Award. Roger traveled the world during his years of service and took great pride in his Veteran status and being able to serve in the American Military.

He fulfilled the strict requirements to be a member of The American Legion in Mansfield, Post 128 and was active in his local VFW. He was a devoted and active member of his church, Mansfield First Assembly of God. They loved him and treated him as his family, and he returned the same love.

Roger was cremated at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Mansfield and memorials to be announced at later dates. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Roger Baldwin’s name at The American Legion Post 128 in Mansfield, your local VFW or Mansfield First Assembly of God.
