Roger’s Obituary Roger W. Spivey, 83 of Aledo, died Monday, February 4, 2019 at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be at a later date in Reynolds Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Mercer County FFA or Trinity Presbyterian Church. Roger Wayne Spivey was born on January 26, 1936 in New Windsor, Illinois to Thomas & Mildred (Fetters) Spivey. Roger dedicated his life to farming in the Green Township area where he enjoyed raising cattle.

He was a supporter of local high school sports and enjoyed watching the games, especially softball. Roger is survived by his sister, Bonnie (Rodney) Calderone of Sherrard; brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Spivey of Sherrard; sister-in-law: Vonda Spivey of Aledo; son, Toby Spivey of New Windsor; daughter, Rhoda Staker of Aledo; grandchildren: Heather, Bradley, Colby, Cassidy and Cayley and 2 great-grandchildren and one lovingly expected. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lyle and Curtis and an infant child.
