Roland “Chief” G. LoChel, 77, of Armstrong, died on Friday, January 25, 2019, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on April 17, 1941, in Wisconsin, the son of Walter and Sadie Zastrow LoChel. On November 12, 2007 he married Linda Scupholm in Shawano, WI.

Roland was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War. He owned and operated R & L Building and enjoyed farming in Gillette. He enjoyed going out to dinner, going for rides, walking the beach and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Armstrong, his daughter, Debra Henry, two grandchildren: Julie Dowd and Amy Hrobsky; three great-grandchildren: Kally Hrobsky, Ethan and Katchen Dowd; and two sisters: Janice Robinson and Sue LoChel. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Roslyn Haeble. At Roland’s request, cremation has taken place.
