Ronald Charles Martin, 61 of Sugar Hill, passed away at Littleton Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 after a short illness. Ron was born on September 14, 1956 in Littleton, NH, son of Raymond Charles and Mildred Streeter Martin. He was educated and graduated in 1976 from The Dr. Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster, Massachusetts.

In the fall of that year, Ron began employment at Tempo Workshop, now called Common Ground. It was there that he developed long lasting relationships, working with support at various companies in the Littleton area and surrounding communities. During that time, he was supported and guided by a very special person in his life, Marta Clark.

That bond has continued over the past forty years. Ron was a very busy guy, even in retirement and kept a regimented daily schedule. He especially loved typing the Union Leader sports section stats and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

He practiced his guitar and keyboard, shot hoops and kept up with beloved shows on TV Land. His day always began with a dose of humor from Lucille Ball. He knew every show so well, he could follow along verbatim.

Ron was especially interested in court cases and watched Judge Marilyn Milian faithfully, often researching court related terms, offering his opinion. Above all, Ron was the best son, brother, cousin, and friend you would ever want. He was kind, compassionate, and never complained.

Everything was always “fine” in his book. Although he faced many challenges in his life, he persevered and made the best of every situation. Ron will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Mildred as well as George and Lois Martin, and Madeline Martin. Surviving family members include his sister and husband, David R. and Sharon Martin Dodge of Littleton. He is also survived by cousins Rob and Sherry Martin and children as well as his faithful, weekend caretaker, Joanne Ingerson of Littleton.

Per family wishes, services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to support community client integration at: Common Ground, c/o Marta Clark, PO Box 299, Whitefield, NH 03598. The family wishes to thank Franconia and Sugar Hill Police, Fire, Franconia Life Squad, Golden Cross Ambulance, and Littleton Regional Hospital for their kind and compassionate care during his short illness.
