Ronald “Ron” Roland Jones November 19, 1946 – January 30, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book Ronald “Ron” Roland Jones, 72, passed away Wednesday January 30, 2019. He was born November 19, 1946 in Surry County to the late John Thomas Jones and Billie Rycroft Jones. As the owner of Jones & Jones Jewelers for 42 years Ron was proud to play a part in innumerable celebrations.

While in the US Air Force, Mr. Jones spent 1 year in the Vietnam War and also spent 3 years behind the Iron Curtain in West Berlin. Ron was a deacon at Boonville Baptist Church and also an RA leader. He cherished his Sunday School Class, which he taught for 30 years.

He served in many clubs in Yadkin County including Boonville Lions Club, Yadkinville Sertoma Club, and Yadkinville Rotary Club. Mr. Jones was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Karen Warden and Pat Branch.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years Renee Morrison Jones; two sons Brian (Teresa) Jones, Robert (Joy) Jones; grandchildren Isabella Jones, Abigail Jones, Olivia Jones; step grandchildren Spencer Easter, Leah Easter; sister Jenna (Mike) Day; brother Wayne (Kathy) Jones; mother in law Katena Morrison; brother in law Brady (Ann) Morrison. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday February 1, 2019 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday February 2, 2019 at Boonville Baptist Church by Rev.

John Brown and Rev. Brady Morrison. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors by the VFW post 10346. Memorials may be made to Boonville Baptist Church Family Life Center 201Baptist Church Rd. Boonville, NC 27011.
