Obituary for Ronald Russell Jackson, Ronald Russell Jackson was born on July 29, 1968. He departed this life on August 12, 2018. Ronald was a very quiet little boy who loved baseball.
He would give his toys and other items to his friends. He excelled in elementary school and middle school where he read on a 12th grade reading level in the 6th grade. He was attending Edmondson High School, but his medical issues prevented him from continuing his studies.
After several surgeries doctors informed the family that his health issues would interfere with him having a normal life. Despite their prognosis, Russell went on to receive his GED with high letters grades and he also received a certificate from NorthWest Trade School for HVAC in 2017. Russell was proud of that moment.
When Russell reached his late twenties, he received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptised at Liberty Grace Baptist Church. In his late thirties, Russell joined Doswell Cathedral COGIC where he received the Lord and served on the Usher board. While attending church, Russell befriended and became attached to Deacon Samuel Wright.
He would always tell his mother “Mommy, Sammy is watching out for me, and I want to be a deacon! ”. Despite all the health issues he endured, Russell became stronger and more determined to live his best life.
Russell met his devoted friend and companion Beverly, whom he spent 8 years with. Over the past five years, they traveled in and outside of the country. Russell just returned from Jamaica where he traveled for his birthday.
He was planning a trip out of the country and informed his mother “Mommy you have to get your passport, you have to see the world! ”. One of Russell’s favorite past times were watching the stars through his telescope and flying his drones.
He also loved going to the gym and sitting in the hot tub. Russell was close to his brothers Christopher and Kevin who was his greatest friend. He often mimicked his brothers and spent hours instilling wisdom and knowledge to them.
Russell is survived by his mother Carolyn Royster (Lee), his brother Kevin Makell (Quiana) and Christopher Smith, devoted friend Beverly Dingle, nieces Cheyenne Ali Makell, Daynia Makell, Kamari Makell, Canya Therolyn Smith ; his grandmother Thelma Kee, aunts Claudia, Celestine (Stanley), Vernice (Larry), Adrienne and Valerie and one uncle Claude (Earline) and a host of relatives, cousins and friends.
