He was born October 27, 1936 to George and Ruth (Nieman) Schlatter in Hawkeye, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Kenneth Schlatter.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Connie; sons, Martin (Amelia) Schlatter, Michael (Erin) Schlatter, and Rodney Schlatter; grandchildren, Santana (Dustin) Lindaman, McKennen Lindaman, Reagan Lindaman, Everett Lindaman, Elizabeth Schlatter, Samuel Schlatter, Addison Schlatter, and Jillian Schlatter; brothers, Lavern Schlatter, Russell (Sally) Schlater; sisters, Marilyn Berns, Evelyn Richards, and Ladonna Hough; sister-in-law Lois Schlatter; and special friends, Emma Batchelder and Dean Johnson. Memorial Service: 11:00 am, Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church 5356 N Hillside St. Wichita, Kansas 67219. Final resting place in Hawkeye, Iowa.
