Obituary for Rosa Williamson (Kinard) Graveside services for Rosa Lee Williamson, 77, of Portales, will be held at 3:00 PM, Thurs. , Oct. 11, 2018 in the Portales Cemetery with Rev.

Brad Morgan officiating. All family and close friends will be honorary pallbearers. Rosa Lee Williamson was born Feb.

1, 1941 in Elida, NM to the home of Edith Marie (Wood) and John Paul Kinard and died at her home in Portales on Oct. 7, 2018. On Dec.

15, 1956, she was married to Wayne Levacy. The couple had three children before later divorcing. On Feb.

23, 1985 in Portales, she was married to James Williamson. From 1975 until 1982 she owned and operated to Hiway 70 Truck Stop on the west edge of Portales. After she and Mr. Williamson were married they were team drivers for Southwest Canners.

In 1989 her daughter, Valerie Bare died giving birth, and Rosa Lee and Mr. Williamson adopted her two sons, and she came home to begin again as wife and mother to two small boys. She was active in the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary for many years. While her girls were young, she was a Campfire Leader and later acted as Director for several years.

Rosa Lee was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed a wide variety of things, including reading, bird watching, flower gardening, playing cards, especially poker, and going to the lake. She loved to go fishing, and each summer she took her four grandchildren and the two boys and went to the lake several times.

She is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mike and Brenda Levacy, Dustin and Samantha Williamson and Tyler Wayne Bare all of Portales; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Larry Jewell of Portales; four grandchildren, Michael (Kathy) Levacy Tiffany (Russell) Lovelis, Sonnie (Sam) Garcia and Chase (Suzy) Jewell; eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Virginia Ray of Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Sam, Bob and Walter Kinard, two sisters, Edna Puppa and Nora Madrigal, her daughter, Valerie Bare who died Feb. 10, 1989 and her husband, James Williamson who died June 5, 2003.
