OBITUARY Rosalie Brescia April 2, 1932 – September 25, 2018 ROSALIE BRESCIA, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Born in Mount Vernon, New York, she was the daughter of Thomas Lavinio and Josephine LaManna. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory Business School in Mount Vernon, New York, and worked for the New York Telephone Company (the original Ma Bell in Westchester, NY).

Following that career, she worked as a sales associate for Marshalls, Inc. in both Nanuet and Scarsdale, New York for 20 years, and then she retired. After retirement she joined the Tallman Bible Church, and worked as the “Sunshine Girl” responsible for all acknowledgements of church members on special occasions. She was very social and enjoyed friends and family.

She will be remembered for her love of the simple joys in life, her compassion and concern for others, and her devotion to her family. Rosalie was the loving mother of her son, Steven Brescia and his wife, Ann, her daughter Janet Vignola and her husband Frank, devoted sister to her brother Thomas Lavinio and his wife Carole, dearest grandmother to her grandchildren Michael and his wife Stefania, and Ashley Brescia and her partner Jason, and 2 great grandchildren Luciano and Lorenzo Brescia, as well as her step-grandchildren Dominick, Briana and Francis. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Joe and Alex Lavinio. Flowers for the service may be delivered to the funeral home at Wanamaker & Carlough, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. The memorial service will be at the Ascension Cemetery Chapel, 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY 10952 on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at the Ascension Cemetery.
