Rosalie Hanley Safreed, 98, of Huntingtown, MD passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 surrounded by loving family. Born on November 11, 1920 in Benwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Rosalie Frazier Hanley and Daniel J. Hanley, Sr. Rosalie was the beloved wife to the late Richard Safreed and loving mother of Margaret Susan and the late Richard. She was the devoted grandmother of four grandchildren and cousin of Paul D. Hanley and J. William Hanley.

Rosalie was an Army Veteran. She worked for both the Veterans Administration and Department of the Navy. She was very patriotic, loved the American Flag and was a member of the American Legion Post #206.

Rosalie was an active member of her church and was devoted to the Blessed Mary. Rosalie enjoyed reading, her de-café coffee and had a sweet tooth. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 3 from 4 to 7 PM in the Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane Owings, MD 20736.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 4 at 10 AM in Jesus the Divine Word Catholic Church, 885 Cox Road Huntingtown, MD 20639. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road Clinton, MD 20735. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Friends of National WWII Memorial, 921 Pennsylvania Avenue SE Suite 316, Washington, DC 20003.
