Rose Marie Garcia, April 14, 1940 — May 10, 2018

Obituary for Rose Marie Garcia Rose Marie Garcia, age 78 of Houston entered into eternal rest on May 10, 2018. She was born on April 14, 1940. She was the daughter and only child of Edward Cortez and Mary (Lucadou) Cortez.

Rose Marie had a passion for her family, gardening, and cooking. Her favorite pastime was shopping for plants and flowers to brighten her garden. She loved taking pictures of her family, she would have them pose endlessly while saying “okay — just one more”.

Her home was filled with love and laughter of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rose Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Cortez. She is survived by her Husband of 57 years of marriage, Manuel Garcia; her children, Kenneth and his wife Bea, Michael and his wife Sylvia, Jeffrey and his wife Louise and Marissa Garcia; 8 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, Houston, Texas. A Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Church, with Fr Tom Hawxhurst, officiating.

Cremation will take place at a later date. All services are under the care of Morales Funeral Home.
