Roselind June Schouten June 20, 1917 – December 25, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Roselind Schouten Roselind June (Schulz) Schouten, 101, Beaver Dam, formerly of Waupun, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital, Hillside Manor. Roselind was blessed to have seen the sun rise on 102 Christmas mornings. Roselind was born at home, in Trenton, on June 20, 1917, the daughter of William and Elsie (Schroeder) Schulz.

Roselind grew up on the family farm just outside of Waupun, along with her cherished brother, Warren. They remained close until Warren’s death in 2016. Roselind was proud to have attended the one-room schoolhouse, Sloper County Line School, and Waupun High School, living with relatives in town during winters and graduating in 1935.

On Nov. 24, 1939, Roselind was united in marriage to Arnold Schouten. The couple owned and operated Schouten Mink Ranch in Waupun for over 40 years.

Roselind and Arnold were founding members of Emmanuel Reformed Church in 1942, remaining active in the church their entire lives. After the passing of Arnold in 1980, Roselind continued to serve as Women’s Mission Society leader and spent time visiting shut-ins. Roselind enjoyed spending time with her large extended family, playing cards and traveling with her many friends.

Extremely independent, Roselind lived on her own until age 96 and her driver’s license didn’t expire until she turned 100. Roselind will be remembered by her four children, Brian (Judy) Schouten of Beaver Dam, Cheryl (Ralph) Schregardus of Fox Point, Jean (Edward) Kosten of Holland, Mich. , and Kathleen (Charles) Misun of Menasha.

She is further survived by her 14 grandchildren and their spouses; 30 great grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Naomi Schouten of De Pere; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Roselind was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Arnold; her brother, Warren Schulz; granddaughter, Renee Schouten in 1981; and son-in-law, Edward Kosten in 2011. Visitation for Roselind will be held from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service at Emmanuel Reformed Church, 400 West Brown Street, Waupun.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at noon. The Rev. Jessica Oosterhouse will officiate.

A private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton. The family would like to thank the staff at the Remembrance Home in Beaver Dam for their extraordinary care of Roselind these past few years.
