OBITUARY Rosemarie Brown February 19, 1931 – July 29, 2018 Rosemarie “Roz” Brown (nee Pippit), 87, of Belleville, IL, born, February 19, 1931, in East Saint Louis, IL, passed away, Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Swansea, IL. Roz was a jewel to all who knew and loved her. She had a loving, dedicated and philanthropic persona.

She was a woman of faith, having been a member at the First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, for over 25 years. She retired from the financial banking industry after 40 years of service. Roz worked at various banking institutions, such as: Banker’s Trust, Mark Twain and Bank of Edgemont during those 40 years.

She also enjoyed being a member in outside organizations. Some of those included the Business Professional Women’s Foundation, the Women’s Crisis Center, in Belleville, and the Supper Club, where she was able to travel and got together with friends on occasion. Her most precious memories were those spent with her family.

She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 26 years, Tom Brown, her daughter, Carol Lynn Alvarado, her parents: Francis Pippit and Mable (nee Wilson), and her sister, Patricia Spencer.

Surviving to cherish memories are her loving children: Richard (Cynthia) Croak, of Smithton, IL, Lisa (Tom) Vardaman, of Caseyville, IL, and Jeff (Tracy McElligott) Croak, of Highland, IL, son-in-law, Robert “Chico” Alvarado, her grandchildren: Edward (Jamie) Croak, Sarah (JT) Zych, Bryan Bradshaw, Alexander Croak, Ashley Sapienza and Mark (Brandy) Alvarado, her great-grandchildren, Audrey, Charlie and Henry Zych, Ryan Croak, Ava and Ailise Bradshaw, and Parker and Ruby Alvarado, her step-children: Richard Brown, James (Mary) Brown, and Keith (Becky) Brown, her brother-in-law, Ralph Spencer, and a number of dear relatives and friends. The family of Mrs. Rosemarie Brown would like to send a special heartfelt thanks to the executive director of Sycamore Village Assisted Living, Gina Toth, the entire staff, an d a special thanks to Ashley Modglin who affectionately referred to Rosemarie as “grandma” and who enriched her last years with much love and special care. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or the First United Presbyterian Church of Belleville, IL.
