Rosemary Watson Weaver , December 19, 1928 — November 19, 2018

Rosemary Watson Weaver, 89, of Purvis, passed away at her residence Friday, November 16, 2018. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 in Highland Cemetery. Rosemary was born on December 19, 1928 to James T. and Allie Bertha Watson.

She had three brothers, James, Robert, and George Watson. Both of her parents died when she was sixteen years old. She attended Glendale High School and graduated from Hattiesburg High School.

She attended Southern Mississippi… Read More » College for two years, while working at Willmut Gas in Hattiesburg. She then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and served her Country in 1952 through 1954 where she met and married Bud Weaver (after a year of courtship) at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, TX. She was honorably discharged from the Air Force with the birth of her first child.

Upon leaving the Air Force, she spent two years as a civil service employee at the 29th Air Division Headquarters in Great Falls, MT and Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan. She then became a Federal Service Employee (until her retirement in 1990) at U. S. Army Automotive Tank Command in Warren, MI (with a government rating of GS-11) where she served as a Section Supervisor with twenty plus subordinates. During that time she received several Outstanding Achievement Awards.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell “Bud” Weaver of Purvis; a son, David Ryan (Teresa) Weaver of Flint, MI; two daughters, Sheri Lynn (Tom) Roose of Mt. Clemens, MI, Terri Leigh (Mark) Bigham of Goldsboro, NC; daughter-in-law, Loretta Weaver of South Rockwood, MI; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Allie Bertha Watson; a son Scott Ray Weaver and three brothers, James Watson, Robert Watson and George Watson.

Rosemary found beauty in all things both animate and inanimate. She loved God, Jesus, family, her Sunday School Class, flowers and animals. She did not have a biased bone in her body.

If you wanted to start an argument “Say something of disapproval of someone she knows”, she would softly explain where you were wrong. Visitation for Rosemary will be 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Hattiesburg Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
