Rosevelt Person was born on April 28, 1925 in Shiloh, Texas to Andrew and Carrie Person. He graduated from Freeman High School in Caldwell, Texas in 1943. He moved to California in 1946 and was employed with Greyhound for 35 years.

There he was recognized as one whose acts and deeds were worthy of emulation. Jack met Mildred Marmon in 1947. They married in 1948 and were happily married for 53 years.

Both Rosevelt and Mildred were members of Park Presidio Baptist Church in San Francisco and upon retirement joined First Baptist Church in Merced, CA. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Bible Study Instructor for both establishments. Jack loved tinkering with cars, hunting and fishing.

For those that knew him golfing was his all-time favorite. He brought much laughter with his wit, endless joking and pranking. Rosevelt was a good Christian man who supported his family as well as, extended and church families.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Carrie Person, his loving wife, Mildred Person, his brothers Lorenzo and Andrew Person, his sisters May Malvo, Novella Brazzell. Rosevelt is survived by his daughters, Lurline Morrison and Carolyn Person, his son Michael Person Sr., Five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
