Obituary for Roy J. Burris Mr. Roy J. Burris, age 91 of Conyers, died Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Etter Burris; brothers, Elmer Burris, Monroe Burris; and sisters, Eva Mae Hollis, Ella Glass, Helen Ledbetter. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice Joyce Burris; brothers, Emmett Burris, Odis Burris, Walter Lee Burris, Donald Ray Burris; sisters, Ethel McGowan, Mary Ellen Whiten; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Burris was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. He was an active member of Conyers Church of God and enjoyed cooking for church functions. He loved to bake and enjoyed gardening.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Conyers Church of God with Dr. Mark Hardgrove, Rev. C.A. Register, Dr. Roger K. Bailey and Rev. David Clark officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www. scotward.com.
