RQ’s Obituary R.Q. Gardner was born April 21, 1930 in Gilmer, Texas, one of nine children to the parentage of Whitman and Ira Gardner (all of which have preceded him in death). He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and has never waivered in his Christian beliefs. R.Q. attended college in Kilgore, TX.

He served in the US Army, and worked as a driver until retirement. He married Pearline Sample in Dallas Texas. To this union four children were born.

R.Q. was a faithful member of Mount Pisby Church in North Dallas until the family moved to Singing Hills in 1972. At that time he joined Carver Heights Baptist Church and remained until the establishment of Antioch Baptist Church, of which he remained faithful for years and thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the male chorus. R.Q. Gardner accepted God’s call to rest on January 30, 2019.

He leaves to witness his legacy two daughters, Jann R. (Frederick) Anderson, and Diane (Ishman, Jr.) Dudley, and one son, Roger Q. Gardner, all of Dallas, Texas. Preceding him in death was his wife of 41 years, Pearline Gardner, one son, Gerald L. Gardner, one grand-daughter, Erica Turner, and one great-grand-son, Marcello Turner. He also leaves seven grand children, ten great-grand children, one great-great-grand child and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
