Ruben Ramon, 75, of Bellevue passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at The Bellevue Hospital. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, pappaw, and friend to many. He was born July 26, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of Francisco Sr. and Juanita (Vedia) Ramon.

He was always brimming with pride for his heritage, his family, and the hard work they accomplished together. Ruben worked as a welder for Armstrong Air until his retirement in 1991. But he was most passionate about the things in life that brought joy to others.

He loved playing the guitar and harmonica, especially making up songs so people would laugh. He enjoyed boating, driving around in his ’57 Fairlane, and having a good time, but his favorite thing in the world was cooking amazing food and feeding his family and friends. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 490, Bellevue.

Ruben was an engaging story teller and left those around him amazed at his life’s adventures. Those he leaves behind will keep his memory alive through sharing his recipes and his stories for years to come. Ruben is loved by many still on this earth: the love of his life, his wife, Elyse (Hall) Ramon, whom he married on May 7, 1983; his pride and joy, his two daughters: Monica (Ben) Church of Luckey, Ohio and Tanya (Tom Turco) Ramon of Tiffin, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: Francisco Ramon Jr. of Bellevue, Rudy (Betty Parrish) Ramon of Bellevue, Joe Ramon of Clyde, Rolando (Nick Staup) Ramon of Columbus; and sister, Laura Marie Ramon of Fremont.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, John Ramon; brother, Juan “Tony” Ramon; and a sister in infancy. We know he is overjoyed to be reunited in Heaven with those he loved, sharing his infamous train whistle as he greets them. Friends will be received on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where the Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at St. Jacob’s Cemetery, Republic. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.
