OBITUARY Ruby Gene Messer Goodson August 23, 1946 – January 4, 2019 Play Tribute Movie Ruby Gene Messer Goodson Waynesville, NC – Ruby Gene Messer Goodson, age 72, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Haywood County on August 23, 1946 to the late Charlie and Edith Wyatt Messer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Goodson; brother, Charles Messer.

She had a great love for her family and friends. Those who knew her best would know her as never meeting a stranger. She loved God and never failed to be a witness for Him.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Edith Ann Nations; grandson, Jesse Lee Yon; brothers, George Messer, Wayne Messer, and Bo Messer; sister, Marshall Ann Thomason; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 1 to 3 PM at Garrett Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Fulbright Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fulbright Cemetery Fund, 759 Sumpter Ave. , Rock Hill, SC 29730.
