Ruby Maxine Doege, age 97, died Friday, July 27, 2018 at Woodview Assisted Living in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Doege was born on a farm in Union Township near VanWert, Ohio on November 30, 1920 to Jesse Earl and Goldie Mae (Waldron) Place. She married Ralph Gerhart Doege and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2004.

Ruby was a store clerk at WT Grant, JC Penney, and LS Ayres. She was a past member Antioch Lutheran Church, Hoagland and currently a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Huntertown. Survivors include: Son, Barry and Janet Doege of Fort Wayne.

Son, Phillip and Judith Doege of Columbia City. Son, Alan and Kathy Doege of Carmel. 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Sister, Berniece Place Dunn of Elida, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her sisters Grace Johns, Wilma Timma, Bonnie Comisky, Ann Place Bennett, and Evelyn Thomas; and brothers Bernard Fisher and Irvin Place. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 14318 Lima Road, Huntertown, Indiana 46748 with visitation prior to the service from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

Rev. William Smith will officiate the service. Burial will take place at Concordia Gardens Cemetery on Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne.

Memorial donations may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Northern Indiana Funeral Care of Fort Wayne.
