Hammonds, 93, of Loves Park passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, in her home. Born June 20, 1925, in Kentucky, the daughter of Oscar Flint and Letishie Anne (Johnson) Barnett. Married Coleman W. Hammonds.

During World War II, Ruby was part of the war effort building aircraft and boats for the military. She was affectionately known as “Ruby the Riveter”. Survivors include her daughter, Loretta Hammonds; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents; husband; daughters, Linda Mitchell and Barbara Slush. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Grapevine Cemetery, Madisonville, KY.
