Obituary for Ruby Pearl Hauk Ruby Pearl Hauk, 93, a long time Rushville resident, passed away December 2, 2018 in Indianapolis. Ruby was born May 4, 1925 in Somerset, KY to Virgil & Hester (Childers) Whitaker. She married Don J. Hauk on August 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2002.

Ruby was a past member of the Rushville Church of God and was a present member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, going to garage sales and listening to Polka and Bluegrass music. Ruby retired from Schnadig Corporation in Rushville in 1986 where she had worked in assembly since 1942.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Misty Chandler of Carmel and Tracy Chandler of Rushville, a grandson, Mike Chandler of Rushville and great-granddaughter, Olivia Foreman. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Judy Chandler, a son-in-law, Mike Chandler, sisters, Letha Whitaker, Ila Smith and Gatha Hutchinson and a brother, Linville “Bud” Whitaker. Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Rev.

Jeff Edwards presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the mortuary from 11 AM until service time on Saturday. Burial will be in the Bennett Cemetery in Shelby County.
