Janet, 86 and Rudy Sutton, 87 COITSVILLE – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, with the Very Rev Msgr. Michael Cariglio officiating, for Janet M. Sutton, 86, who died Dec.

19, 2018, and her husband, Rudolph J. Sutton, 87, who died Jan. 23, 2015. Janet was born March 26, 1932, in Youngstown, a daughter of Paul and Erma Gualtieri Petrella.

Rudolph was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Struthers, a son of John and Alice (Grohovsky) Sutton. Janet was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.

Rudy was a graduate of East High School. Rudy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the VFW. The young couple married April 20, 1959, and were inseparable, their true deep love for one another lasted their entire lives.

Janet worked as a secretary for many years at Youngstown Manufacturing. Rudy had worked as a truck driver for Youngstown Manufacturing. He went on to own and operate his own business, a Gulf Station for 40 years.

Rudy also faithfully served the Coitsville community for 26 years as a member of the Coitsville Township Board of Trustees. Mr. and Mrs. Sutton were members of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Youngstown.

They enjoyed watching various TV shows together and NASCAR. The couple also enjoyed dancing and frequenting the theaters in their younger years. Rudy was an avid golfer and enjoyed being with his constant companion, his dog, “Shadow”.

Rudy and Janet will be deeply missed and forever remembered by their loving daughter and caregiver, Sherryl L. Sutton and numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudy; her brother John Petrella; and sisters Helen Poszust and Norma Colaluca. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edward Sutton; and sister Virginia Skaggs.

Calling hours will be Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. Following the 11 a.m. funeral service, military honors will be offered for Rudolph.

Janet and Rudy will be laid to rest at St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
