OBITUARY Rupaco T. Gonzalez, Jr. May 2, 1964 – September 8, 2018 Rupaco T. Gonzalez, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 8, 2018 at home with his daughter by his side. He was 54 years old. Rupaco was born on May 2, 1964 in Roma, Texas to his parents, Rupaco T. Gonzalez and Maria de la Luz Tijerina.

Rupaco graduated from Lanier High School in 1982 in Austin, Texas and went on to get his Doctors of Jurisprudence in 1988 from the University of Texas at Austin. He was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas and subsequently opened the Gonzalez Law Firm and went on to become a federal judge in Round Rock, Texas. Rupaco was a devoted loving and caring son, father, brother, and friend to many.

He was an active man and loved spending time in the outdoors. His greatest outdoor passions were golfing and tennis. He also loved sports including his beloved Longhorns, Astros, and Cowboys.

He was a friend to many and a stranger to no one. Rupaco’s family would want you to know and always remember him as a truly spiritual person and a man of great faith. He was a true one of kind individual who possessed a heart of gold, filled with honesty, integrity and unbelievable amounts of compassion for others.

He was fun loving, down earth, known for his sense of humor and smile and being a true kid at heart. Most importantly, it must be said his greatest accomplishment and love in life was that of his daughter, Daphne. Rupaco is survived by his daughter, Daphne of Austin, Texas; one brother Robert Tijerina of Plano, Texas; one sister Tish Secrest of Dallas, Texas as well as family members and close friends.

A memorial service for Rupaco will be on Wednesday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Private inurnment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Mausoleum at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions in Rupaco’s name to the Red Cross.

FAMILY Rupaco is survived by his daughter, Daphne of Austin, Texas; one brother Robert Tijerina of Plano, Texas; one sister Tish Secrest of Dallas, Texas as well as family members and close friends.
