OBITUARY Ruth Ann Ashley October 25, 1925 – October 23, 2018 Born October 25, 1925 in Charlevoix, Michigan to Walter and Nellie (Schall) Wesson, passed away on October 23, 2018, at the age of 92. Ruth Ann graduated from Michigan State Normal School (Eastern Michigan University) and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan. She started teaching in Lapeer Michigan and retired from Mason High School in 1979 after 18 years of service.

Ruth Ann enjoyed traveling, both in the United States and abroad. She was passionate about the environment and conservation. Ruth Ann enjoyed quilting and was involved in a number of activities with Mason First United Methodist Church.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Roger Ashley; son, Durk Ashley; brothers, Glen and Warren Wesson; sisters, Edith Short and Nellie Libke. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lorna Greening; son, Roger (Pat) Ashley; grandchildren, Trevor (Stephanie) Ashley, Jessica (Jesse) Keene, great-grandchildren; Lucian Ashley and Daniel Keene. In keeping with her wishes no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mason First United Methodist Church or The Nature Conservancy. The family is being served by the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Ball Dunn Mason Chapel. Memories and online condolences may be shared with the family at www.
