Ruth Ann Christy, age 79 of Boyne City passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 13, 2019 at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan. Ruth was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 3, 1939 the daughter of John and Susie Krizan. In 1970 she moved to Boyne City and worked as a waitress at Mr. Jays and B&C Restaurant’s before becoming an inspector at Bendix (Honeywell) for fifteen years.

Ruth was a people person with a great sense of humor; there was no walking past her without hearing a hello. She enjoyed sitting by the water, camping and traveling. Ruth is survived by her three children Cherie Kennedy of Seattle, WA, Bob (Lori) Christy of Boyne City and Colleen (Tom) Sweet of North Dakota; four grandchildren Ambre Ayoub, Allen Detlaff, Bethany and Johnathon Christy She is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and one sister.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2019 at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City. A private graveside service will be held at a later time at Maple Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to be directed to Grandvue Medical Care Facility; in memory of Ruth.
