Ruth F. Stuart, age 91, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at Vista Park following an extended illness. Mrs. Stuart was born on August 27, 1926 in Pearson, GA the daughter to the late Jackson Seaborn Lastinger and Anna Gertrude Wall Lastinger. She was the Elkhart Township Assessor, a career politician for over twenty years in Elkhart, IN and was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Elkhart, IN.

Mrs. Stuart was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Carlyle Stuart. Survivors include two nephews, Sammy Lastinger of Douglas, GA and Danny Lastinger of Perry, FL; four nieces, Jackie Wilson of Douglas, GA, Jan Lastinger of Douglas, GA, Tommie Dukes of Athens, GA and Trudy Carlisle of Douglas, GA; special cousin, Carlie Lastinger. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday July 27, 2018 at Sims Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday July 30, 2018 at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, IN with Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, IN in charge of arrangements. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www. simsfuneralhome.com.
