Obituary for Betty H. Craft Mrs. Betty H. Craft of Newnan, GA, passed away peacefully at Southwest Christian Care Hospice in Union City, GA on July 14, 2018. Mrs. Craft was born in Mobile, Alabama April 17, 1929. She then resided in Northwest Florida (Tallahassee, Pensacola, Gulf Breeze and Destin) until 2009, when she moved to Lora’s Place in Newnan, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Hubert D. Craft. She is survived by her three children; son Paul W. Craft and his wife Debra Corkhill of Tallahassee, FL, daughter Lynn Craft and her husband Bob Lueken, of Birmingham, AL, daughter, Joyce Revoir and her husband Brett Revoir, of Newnan, GA; four grandchildren, Keith Chapman and his wife Megan Chapman of Kona, HI, Bert Chapman and his wife Andrea Chapman of Atlanta, GA, Gillian Revoir and Katelyn Revoir of Newnan, GA; two great-grandchildren, Helen Chapman and Isabelle Chapman, of Atlanta, GA; brother, Larry Hale of St. George Island FL; sisters Peggy Miller of Pensacola, FL, Alice Fox of St. George Island, FL. Mrs. Craft was a graduate of Leon High School in Tallahassee, FL.
She began her work experience as bank teller and was a bookkeeper by trade. She worked along side her husband for Danley Furniture Company in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida for most of her career until she became a real estate broker and co-owner of Coldwell Banker in Destin, FL.
Post-retirement, she worked in the sewing department at Wal-Mart, which she enjoyed very much. She loved to sew and her many quilts have been cherished by her family and friends. She was a skilled gardener and loved flowers.
After her husband passed, she stayed active with her neighborhood group, “Lora’s Ladies,” local book clubs and enjoyed the company of many friends. She had a kind heart, and inspired and encouraged everyone she reached. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 3 o’clock at Parrott Funeral home in Fairburn, GA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Rd. , Union City, GA 30291 in honor of Mrs. Craft.
