Anna Ruth Baker Godbee, age 84, of Roswell, GA, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019. She was born August 30, 1934 to the late Roy L. Baker and Ruth James Baker in Hendersonville, NC. Ruth married Thomas J. Godbee on August 25, 1956.

He preceded her in death in April of 2007. Ruth attended Georgia Southern College, majoring in English where she met her husband. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was an avid reader, bridge player and she also loved to play bingo. She enjoyed occasional trips to casinos to play the slot machines, going on family vacations and she loved to cook. Survivors include two sisters, Sondra (Oscar) Odom of Fernandina Beach, Fl, and Olivia (Larry) Thomason of Stone Mountain, GA; four children, Elaine (Rob) Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Jeff (Mae) Godbee of Roswell, GA, Anna (Franklin) Ramsey of Signal Mountain, TN, and James (Joni) Godbee of Dawsonville, GA, 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Godbee will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
