RUTH IRIS (BLACK) HOSACK, 76, of Sidney passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at 4:05 AM at her residence. She was born on November 18, 1942 in Manchester, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carl and Virgie (Stricklett) Black. On June 27, 1975, Ruth married John Hosack, who survives.

She is survived by three children, Leigh (John) Cline of Sidney, Donna Martin of Columbus and Don Kotwica of Troy; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and three siblings, Sharon Curtis of Sidney, Jane DeVelvis of Orlando, FL and twin sister Rachael Hampton of Troy. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Donald Kotwica, two brothers, John William Black and Carl Wayne Black and two sisters, Izetta Black and Catherine Egbert. Mrs. Hosack retired after many years as a Deli Worker at Krogers.

She loved attending the Elks lodge with friends and going to the Casinos. Ruth’s hobbies were sewing and baking. She loved going to the movies and watching all the new Marvel Studio films.

Her favorite time of the year was Halloween and Christmas in which she enjoyed spending time with her family. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday February 7, 2019 at 5 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Pastor Jason Egbert officiating. Friends may visit from 4 PM up until the time of the service.
