Ruth Mahallia Whitman, 77, of Annville, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Whitman, Sr., who passed away in 2003. Born in Oakdale, PA on May 11, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Kochansky and Ruth Mahallia.

Ruth was the League Coordinator for the Palmyra Bowling Center for over 30 years, first getting her start working there as a full-time babysitter. She was a member of Quentin United Church of Christ, where she was the treasurer. She was a member of the Lebanon County Bowling Hall of Fame, staff member of the Lebanon Dutchmen Bowling Tournament, and volunteered as a teacher’s aide in the Annville-Cleona School District.

Ruth enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing, loved hockey, especially the Hershey Bears, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with her grandson Zach. Surviving is a son Donald E. Whitman, Jr., husband of Sherri of Annville, a daughter Dawn E. Whitman of Bandera, TX, grandson Zachary Whitman, and numerous siblings. She was preceded in death by two siblings and her parents.
