Obituary for Sallyann T. Kochut Romer South Plainfield, NJ – Sallyann T. Kochut, 70, known to many as Sally Romer, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in Rahway surrounded by her loving family. Born in Amityville, NY to the late Donald A. and Margaret (Dunn) Fuchs, Sally was raised in Milltown and resided in Edison before settling to South Plainfield in 1973. She graduated New Brunswick High School and worked her entire life as a waitress and homemaker.

She worked at the Parsonage Diner, Moms Restaurant, Sherban’s Diner and at the White Star Diner. She loved her faithful furry friend Max and her beloved show Monk. When she wasn’t working or with her family, she dedicated her time at the Joe Romer Trophy Shop in Edison and she liked to travel.

Predeceased by her husband Harry Kochut and her two brothers; Gerald and Donald, Sally leaves behind her longtime companion Joseph Romer, three sons; Jerry Romer and companion Michelle Harvey, Joseph Romer and fiancé Stacy and Greg Romer and husband Ken Page as well as three grandchildren; Meredith, Deirdre and Jessie and niece Dana Fuchs and Kevin and their son Aiden. Visitation will be held in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 beginning 9:00 am. Funeral services will be held 9:30 am in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church in South Plainfield.

At the request of the family, cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations sent to the American Heart Association (www. heart.org) would be appreciated.
