Samantha Ann Caban (BB) Samantha, 29 years young, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. She enjoyed being around her family and friends, but what she loved more than anything was being a Mom and a Wife That’s when you would see her at her happiest. Samantha Caban is the daughter of Raquel and James Ballard; and loving sister of Jonathon (Erica) Ballard and two nieces Isabella and Braelynn.
She is also granddaughter to Ann Harvel Williams and Patrick Williams; also to James and Linda Ballard. She couldn’t wait to marry, the love of her life, David Caban on July 7, 2018. Samantha was an amazing mother to her two boys, Jaxon and Jace.
She gratefully filled the role of Step Mother to Camren and Hailee. Samantha also held a special place In her heart for Meghan and PJ who she lovingly labeled as her Sister and Brother or “her persons”. She is also survived by her many aunts, uncles, cousin and other loving family members.
Samantha is preceded in death by her Aunt Shelah Russel, Grandfather James Ballard, Sr., Grandmother Linda Ballard, Great Grandfather John Harvel, and Great Grandmother Betty Whited. When Samantha was diagnosed with cancer, we all knew it wouldn’t stand a chance against her. We know it wore her body down.
We know it exhausted her strength. But Cancer could not dim her smile, and what a smile that was! She had the kind of smile that just drew people to her.
She was blessed with beauty, both inside and out. Cancer couldn’t do anything to diminish that either. When Chemo, took her hair, she didn’t let that dull her shine either.
She could have worn a paper bag on her head and still been absolutely stunning. Her inner beauty shone just as bright as her outer beauty through her eyes and that smile. Cancer also tried to rob her of that but failed miserably.
Cancer could not steal her popularity. To know Sam was to love her. She has touched more hearts in her short 29 years here than most people could in a hundred years.
From her doctors, nurses, teachers, coaches, friends, family, and more; no one could enter Samantha’s orbit without being inspired by her. . Sam loved so many, and was loved by so many more.
She had this energy about her, that if you even met her once, you would remember her for life. She was absolutely beautiful, passionate, ridiculously funny, and had one of the biggest hearts. She took whatever cards life dealt her and never let it stop her from what she wanted to do.
Cancer was rendered helpless when it tried to interfere. Cancer ripped a hole in all of our lives. Cancer has left us devastated and heartsick.
Cancer robbed the world of someone who had such a bright and wonderful future, someone who could have made a difference. But, Cancer did not beat Samantha Caban; it never stood a chance.
