Samuel Jean Gass, 65, of Quincy, formerly of Windsor, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL. Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor, IL is assisting the family. Samuel was born March 24, 1953, in Mattoon, the son of Donald J. Gass and M. Inez (Edwards) Gass.

Sam was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Berlin, Germany from 1972-1974. He retired from General Electric in Mattoon after 35 years of employment. … Read More » Surviving are brothers: Jerome Gass of Windsor, Steve Gass of Green Castle, IN, David (Pat) Gass of Moberly, MO and Bruce (Sue) Gass of Arthur; nieces and nephews: Alana (Jerry) James, Brad (Debbie) Gass, J.W. Gass, Alicia (Shawn) Regan and great nephew, Gage Mast.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two nephews. As per his wishes there will be no services. A private burial will take place at a later date at Waggoner Cemetery near Gays, IL.
