He, along with his late wife Peggy, cared for the sick, the widowed, and the lonely and desired for everyone to be a part of God’s family. If Sam Canter knew you, he prayed for you. He taught us all how to give thanks to the Lord in every season and keep our eyes on the prize.

What a legacy of faith he has left! What a day that must have been when he finally got to go home and meet his Savior in the fullness of His glory. Mr. Canter is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy E. Canter; and his son, Samuel T. Canter, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Teresa Stephenson and husband Ray, Patricia Hicks and husband Mark, and Shannon Wiseman and husband Jim; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Honoring him as pallbearers are Trey Canter, Jason Stephenson, Austin Wiseman, David Kindred, Scotty Shaver, and Clint Allen. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Southern Care Hospice staff for showing so much love and compassion to our sweet daddy.
