OBITUARY Othell Pharr March 20, 1935 – October 8, 2018 Funeral services will be conducted for Othell Pharr, age 83, on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 10:30am at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Rev. Sam Moses officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Visitation will begin Friday at 6:00pm until 8:00pm the evening prior. Othell Pharr was born March 20, 1935 in Lewisville, AR to Meek and Lucy Richardson Pharr and entered into rest peacefully on Monday October 8, 2018. Mr. Pharr served his country for 20 years and retired as a TSGT in the United States Air Force.
He was a Veteran of Foreign War having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Mr. Pharr is survived by his daughters Mariette Shuler husband Eric of Haughton, Carolyn Christian of Princeton and Barbara Gandy of Bossier City. Grandchildren, Ryan Shuler and wife Cassandra, Shawn Barnes and wife Mechelle, Jared Christian, Krista and Kelly Gandy, Kelsie Gandy Molina and husband Dillion.
Great-grandchildren, Katalina Shuler, Nicholas and Ashley Barnes, Ryleigh Cobb and soon to be Marian Grace Molina and a host of beloved nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Hiroko “Marian” Pharr, parents, four brothers, a sister and a beloved niece. Our father was a special caring, loving, friendly man and always a jokester.
He never met a stranger and was always eager to help others. His favorite passions were spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Regional Hospice and his nurse, Kysu; the NorthWest LA War Veterans home for the care he received.
A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ted B. Warren, for the friendship and years of care you gave our father. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Paeth, Shaun Paeth, Gene Gandy, Jared Christian, Ricky Pharr, Sr. and Ricky Pharr, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn Barnes, Eric Shuler, Ryan Shuler and Dennis Pharr.
