OBITUARY Samuel Thomas Luinstra August 20, 1921 – October 31, 2018 Samuel Thomas Luinstra, Age 97, Aug. 20, 1921 to Oct. 31, 2018.

He was the eleventh of nineteen children born to Jno (John-of Holland) and Ica Blanche Surgeon Luinstra (of Virginia) in Laverne, Oklahoma. He graduated from Laverne High School and later met and married Helen Louise Chapman March 1, 1941. He was in the Army Air Corps serving in World War II in North Africa and Southern Italy.

They were owners of Neal Hardware in Wichita and worked there together for over 50 years. Sam and Helen had three sons, Tom, Joe, and Lee all of which through their guidance were baptised and became Eagle Scouts. Sam is preceded in death by wife, Helen (1993), grandson, Brian (2001), and son, Tom (2011).

Sam is survived by four of his sisters, Alta, Maurine, Dorthy, and Christina, two of his sons, Joe and Lee, 9 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, and his second wife, Hazel Robinson-Matthews whom he married June 25, 2004. His funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wed. Nov.

7, 2018 at Resthaven Mortuary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to, Salvation Army, 1739 S. Elpyco, Wichita, KS 67218.
