Sandra Faye Stevens August 14, 1939 – May 11, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Sandra Faye Stevens age 79 of Lakeview passed away at home surrounded by her family on May 11, 2019. She was born August 14, 1939 in Lakeview the daughter of Lyle and Vera ( Gondre ) Schoonmaker. Sandy graduated from Morley Agricultural School.

She worked in the factory industry for several years as well as a school bus driver for Lakeview Schools. She taught Sunday school for Bethel Lutheran Church and Holy Trinity. She loved gardening, canoeing, kayaking, tractor shows, car shows, collecting Michigan Magazines, touring the state and national parks, dune buggy rides at Sleeping Bear Dunes, and just driving around looking at the wildlife.

On June 28, 1958 she married Duane Stevens who survives. Also surviving are her children Mark ( Pat ) Stevens of Bossier City , LA Brenda Houghton of Grape Vine, TX Connie Patton of Cape Canaveral, FL 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren Two sisters Judy ( Ted ) Bell of Stanwood Jean ( Marv ) Bell of Stanwood Three sisters in law Kathy ( Bob ) Young of AZ Paulette ( Jim ) Hogarth of Portland , MI Linda ( Steve ) Johnson of Morley And many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, in laws, two son in laws and a grandson in law.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 Am at the Heckman Funeral Home with Pastor Alex Sabol officiating with burial in the Aetna Cemetery in Morley. Memorial contributions to Spectrum Hospice or a Charity of your choice may be left at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 on Tuesday evening and prior to services on Wednesday. The family would like to thank hospice for the care given to Sandy.
