West Burke, VT: Sandra Jean Aldrich, age 66, of Pilgrim Manor passed away at her home, Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Sandi was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on October 28, 1952, daughter to the late Philip Austin and Dorothy Edna (Gero) Houghton. She lived in the area all her life, was baptized in the Methodist Church in E. Lyndon, graduated from Lyndon Institute in the Class of 1970 and worked as a nursing attendant at the Canterbury Inn for many years.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, knitting, crocheting, playing cards with neighbors and traveling throughout northern Vermont and New Hampshire. Sandi was the one who kept up with family over the years and often multiple times a day. She is survived by her children: Scott Greer and wife, Margaret, of Lyndonville, Charity Austin and husband, Danny, of Concord, Jessica Edney and husband, Chester, of Lunenburg, 3 brothers: Stephen Houghton and companion, Sue Lumbra, of North Kirby, Lisle Houghton and wife, Vicki, of Concord, and Daniel Houghton of Kirby, special friends: Sylvia James of W. Burke, Theresa, A.J. and Jasmine Young all of East Haven, VT, 3 grandchildren: Jeremy Greer, Callie Lea Austin, Mark Austin, 2 great-grandchildren: Riley and Matthew Greer and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services and burial at the Lyndon Center Cemetery will be private at Sandra’s request. There will be no Calling Hours. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, 55 Day Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
