Obituary of Sandra Juchartz Hudson October 4, 1945 – May 11, 2018 Sandra Juchartz Hudson, Age 72 of Woodhaven. Beloved wife of Kyle Hudson. Loving mother of Burt (Dawn) Hudson, Pilar (Derek) Mazur and Chris (Emily) Hudson.

Dearest sister of Linda (Carl) Enzenberger. Dear grandmother of Paetra, Mia, Connor, Carter and Marley. Preceded in death by parents Herbert and Olive Juchartz, and Brothers and Sister Edward, Richard, Robert, Conrad, Grant, Donald and Carole.

Family Tribute Sandy was the youngest of 9 children in the Juchartz family of Wyandotte. She grew up on Plum Street in a home that has since been identified as a historic property that celebrates the rich history of Wyandotte. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Roosevelt High in 1963, where she met the love of her life, Kyle.

Kyle has always said that “there was quite a reaction when they met in chemistry class”. They were engaged at 20 and married within a year. Kyle & Sandy were the first couple to be married at Westcroft Gardens on Grosse Ile in 1966.

Fifty years later, in 2016, Kyle & Sandy celebrated their wedding anniversary and renewed their vows at Westcroft Gardens once again. Sandy worked full time at the Church of God Publishing House as a secretary while Kyle finished college. Later, she worked at Emory University Research Center for Social Change and put Kyle through seminary where he became a Minister.

As a Pastor’s wife, she gave birth to 3 children; Burt, Pilar and Chris. They moved to Woodhaven in 1979 where she was a full time working mother who was dedicated to raising her children in a christian home. Sandy attended a women’s retreat sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1984, and soon after attended the church and was impressed with the emphasis given to the kids during the children’s message.

She was excited to have found a church that focused on youth ministries, activities and opportunities. She had found the perfect place of worship for herself and her family. Sandy ultimately became the head of Women’s Ministry at St. Paul where she accomplished wonderful things.

She was an Administrative Assistant at Riverside Hospital for 11 years but her real passion was gardening. Sandy took a course and became a certified Master Gardener in 1993. Shortly after, she started her own business: “Hudson Creek Garden Care”.

She loved being her own boss and making her own hours and beautified her own yard as well. She took great pride in her garden and it was her favorite hobby. The yard still exudes her beauty and personality today.

Donations can be made in Sandy’s name to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Board of Women’s Ministry.
