Sara Bliskey 98 of Biddeford, Maine passed away January 30, 2019. She was married to Alvin Bliskey on September 3rd 1976. Sara had an adventurous spirit and artistic talent and just loved life.
Sara worked at Components and after her retirement from there went to work at the University of New England cafeteria until the age of 92 years old. Sara loved to draw, paint and do artwork. She especially enjoyed doing still life portraits and has produced numerous paintings during her painting endeavor.
Sara enjoyed her long walks on the beach as she searched for sand dollars and beach glass. She would also pick up driftwood and use her artistic talents to make different crafts to share with family and friends. Sara loved to work around her yard and flower garden for hours at a time.
She would often work outside until it was too dark to do anymore, but then the next day she would start all over again. Sara would bring flowers that she grew in her garden to friends and neighbors. She would also go around and transplant some of those flowers in the yards of those she cared for so when the flowers bloomed her friends would have a little reminder of Sara’s care and love for them.
One of the many ways she lived her life was to tell her friends that on each and every day do three things. 1. Give something away (especially your time), 2.
Write a letter or send a card to encourage someone and 3. Visit or call someone to tell them you miss them and love them. Sara was preceded in death by her husband Alvin.
She was one of twelve siblings having two brothers and nine sisters and only one still survives. Sara is also survived by: Son, Lancelot Ball and wife Cynthia of Massachusetts. Son, Clayton Ball and wife Celine of Biddeford, whom she lived with.
Grandchildren: Jonathan, Rebecca and husband Dan Cheney, Jeffrey, Jessica and husband Justin Sellars, Elizabeth and Matthew. Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Joshua, Noah and Grace. We want to give thanks to Hospice care, Hope Memorial and to those who have supported us and mom throughout this journey of life.
Before Sara’s passing she has received the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and is now planting flowers and working in the garden of Glory Amen! ! !
There will be no public viewing. Celebration of Sara’s life will be held at a later date. Also, at Sara’s request her body will be donated to the University of New England Health Care and Medical Center for medical research.
