Sarah Hawkins, 50, passed away on the afternoon of Thursday, March 13, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Sarah was born on September 11, 1968 in Chicago, IL. After attending Alan Shepard High School in Chicago, Sarah obtained her associate degree in medical coding.

Since 2006, Sarah had worked for Press Ganey, doing medical data input. She was the proud mother of three and grandmother to two. Sarah will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Sarah is survived by her loving children: Charlette Hawkins, Demetrius Stewart and Isiah (Brela) Hawkins, all of South Bend; grandchildren, Caden Hawkins and Brielle Hawkins; sisters, Jackie Hawkins and Joanner Gilliam, both of South Bend; as well as a host of extended family members, nieces, nephews and friends. Sarah was preceded in death by her mother, Jennie Hawkins and brother, Antonio Hawkins. Services for Sarah will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN 46628.

Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Sarah’s honor to Unity Gardens, PO Box 10022, South Bend IN 46680. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.
