OBITUARY Sarah “Helen” Medders May 14, 1934 – December 31, 2018 Funeral service for Sarah “Helen” Medders, 84, Alexandria will be 12:00 pm, Friday, January 4, 2019, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crook Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00 am until service time.

Mrs. Medders is survived by her daughters, Linda Swisher (Chris), Brenda Freeman, and Donna Gardner (Steve); brother, Elvin L Hill Jr.; grandchildren, Lisa Fleurant (Marc), Tina Hamm (Rick), Amanda Bean (David), Brian Anderson, David Gardner (Danielle) and Jessica Murphy (Sean); great grandchildren, Breeana Leverett (Davey), Sadie Anderson, Travis Fleurant, Mavis Fleurant, Brianna Hamm, Craig Hamm (Kelly), Zayden Hamm, Liam Gardner, Sawyer Murphy and DJ Bean; and great great grandchildren, Jackson Hamm. Mrs. Medders is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Medders; her parents, Elvin L. Hill Sr. and Annie Lou Hill; son-in-law, Lynn Freeman; sisters, Evelyn Magouirk and Malvada Jones; brothers, Desso Hill and Travis Hill. Pallbearers will be David Gardner, David Bean, Brandon Hill, Todd Hill, Sean Murphy and Brian Anderson.

Mrs. Medders was a longtime resident of Alexandria and went to Ohatchee High School. She drove a school bus for Alexandria School System for over 20 years. She enjoyed quilting and loved working in her flowers.
