Sara Ligon Lee, 89, of Midlothian, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2018. She was born in Halifax, VA on July 16, 1929 and moved to the Richmond area in 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lee, parents Robert and Stella Ligon, brother Leonard Ligon (Dora), sister Ina Blount (Frank) , nephews Bobby Ligon and Bob Blount and nieces Linda Crews and Stella Milton.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Cheatham (Butch) and Sheri Ruggles (Timothy), grandchildren Stephanie Ching (Jason), Matthew Cheatham, Robert Ruggles, and Michael Ruggles, great granddaughter Kinsley Ching, niece Jewel Maul (Bryan), nephew Buddy Ligon (Joan) and many extended family members. Sara was a longtime member of Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church. In her younger years, she volunteered with Vacation Bible School and Girl Scouts.

She was an employee of VBS Inc. and its predecessor, Richmond Auto Parts, Inc. for over 60 years. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd, where services will be held on Wednesday, December 19 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Ramsey Memorial UMC, 5900 Hull Street Road, Richmond, VA 23224.
