Scott Alan Steinberg November 18, 1955 – February 01, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Scott Steinberg, age 63, of Janesville died Friday, February 1, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in New Prague. Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Larry Griffin and Rev.

Paul Muther, officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Friday February 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Memorials are preferred to the Secret Angel Fund at Trinity Lutheran School or donor’s choice. Scott Alan Steinberg was born on November 18, 1955, in Mankato to Robert and Sadie (Lambert) Steinberg. He grew up in Janesville and was a 1974 graduate of Janesville High School.

Scott furthered his education at Oklahoma Farriers College. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Bergmann on September 10, 1977. They resided in Janesville where they raised their four daughters.

For most of his adult life Scott worked in construction. In recent years he was self-employed making knifes, as well as wooden and leather crafts. Scott enjoyed being in the outdoors.

He spent time hunting and fishing with his daughters. Throughout his life Scott had a passion for horses and spent time riding and caring for them. He also had a love for football, this included running the chain gang for the Janesville High School football team for 44 seasons and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.

He had a special place in his heart for the children who attended his wife’s daycare. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and his dog, Cowboy. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol Steinberg of Janesville; children: Tannis Steinberg of Lewiston, Kayla Steinberg of Mankato, Trista Steinberg of Mankato, Kaleena Steinberg of Janesville; one granddaughter, Emmalynn; mother, Sadie Steinberg of Mankato; brothers: Bob (Nancy) Steinberg of Casper, WY, and Greg (Janice) Steinberg of Missoula, MT; sisters: Kris (John) Huebl of Waseca, Denise (Dave Duram) Steinberg of Cambridge; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Robert Steinberg; paternal grandparents: William and Lena Steinberg; maternal grandparents: Andrew and Violet Lambert; father-in-law, Orville Bergmann; and mother-in-law, Irma Bergmann.
