Scott’s Obituary Scott Bamford, age 53, of Swansea, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the loving and devoted husband to Erin (O’Reagan) Bamford whose love spanned over 2 decades. A devoted husband, adored Uncle, and trusted friend, Scott was born in Fall River and was the son of the late, Elvira (Araujo) Bamford.
He was an UMass Dartmouth alumnus who majored in accounting. He was an avid fisherman who always found his peace on the water. He enjoyed his trips to the range for target practice, browsing the aisles of the home improvement stores to plot his next project, and could never say no to a good cup of coffee or cold ginger ale.
Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and canine companions. He is pre- deceased by his mother, Elvira, brother, David Araujo, Sister, Billie Joe Burke, and uncles Robert Araujo, Donald Araujo, and Harold Adams. One of the kindest and gentlest souls this earth has created, he is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Erin Bamford of Swansea, MA, his aunt Carol Araujo of Fall River, MA, Roger and Lorraine Araujo of South Carolina, Patricia Grayson, Diane McGraw, and Richard Araujo, all of FL.
He is also survived by his nieces, Laurie Da Silva, Melanie Araujo, Alexandrea O’Reagan, and nephew Michael O’Reagan Jr, all of Fall River, MA. Nieces Loralei Shields, Marlena Shields, and nephew Patrick Shields all of Swansea. They loved their ‘Un Cott’ with all of their hearts.
Scott is also survived by 14 great nieces and nephews. Private cremation services are entrusted with Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway, Fall River, MA. With a soft smile and gentle soul you hid your agony so well A strong devotion to your family was something all could tell Your generous heart gave so much until it could no longer take the pain And your kindness with your manners was never done in vain Your canine companions will miss their chance to greet you, they never left your side In a true reflection of their owner, their loyalty can’t be denied If there was a better husband, uncle, son, or friend, I’d challenge you to show me a person whom you could more depend His peculiar sense of humor could confuse even the sharpest of minds But he was a treasure of a person whose genuine goodness was hard to find You’ll be missed for your quirkiness , the faults like we all have, and for all the unconditional love you freely gave.
But mostly we’ll cherish all the wonderful memories that you’ve given us to save.
